Overview
AiRuntor is a fast, native Windows desktop app for chatting with AI models — using your own API key. Unlike subscription chat apps, AiRuntor ships no AI of its own and charges you nothing per message: you choose the provider, paste your key, pick a model, and start chatting. You pay only your provider’s usage rates, directly, with no middleman.
It’s a “bring your own key” client built for people who want one clean desktop window for every AI they use, without a browser tab, a monthly subscription, or their conversations passing through someone else’s server. Your API key is stored locally and never bundled or uploaded — it stays on your machine and talks straight to the provider you chose.
AiRuntor supports the major providers out of the box — Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, plus custom / local OpenAI-compatible endpoints — so you can switch between models like gemini-3.8-flash, GPT models, Claude models, or your own local server just by changing the dropdown and the key. The interface is minimal and modern, with dark and light themes and a built-in language toggle (TR / EN), making it comfortable for both English and Turkish users.
Being a native Windows build (C# / WPF on .NET 8), it’s lightweight and quick to open, with none of the overhead of an Electron or browser-based app.

Bring your own API key
No subscription to us, no usage markup. You paste your own provider key and pay the provider directly at their rates.
Local, private key storage
Your key is saved locally and never bundled into the app or sent anywhere except the provider you’re talking to. The field itself even labels this: “API key (yours — stored locally, never bundled).”
Multiple providers, one window
Switch between Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, and custom / local OpenAI-compatible endpoints from a single dropdown.
Any model you want
Type the exact model name you want to use (e.g. gemini-3.8-flash or gemini-1.5-flash), so you’re never locked to one default.

Get Key shortcut
A Get key button takes you straight to where you can create an API key for your chosen provider, so new users aren’t left guessing.

A TR button switches the app language, so it’s ready for both international and local users.

How to use
- Open AiRuntor. You’ll see the provider dropdown, a model field, and the API key field near the top, with the chat area below and the message box at the bottom.
- Choose your provider. Open the Provider dropdown and pick the service you want — Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, or a custom/local endpoint.
- Get an API key (if you don’t have one). Click Get key to jump to your provider’s key page, create a key, and copy it.
- Paste your key. Paste the key into the API key field. It’s stored locally on your machine and never bundled or shared.
- Set the model. In the Model field, type the model name you want to use (for example
gemini-3.8-flash). The footer shows an example format for the selected provider. - Start chatting. Type your message in the box at the bottom and click Send → (or press Enter). Responses appear in the conversation area above.
- Clear when needed. Click Clear to empty the current conversation and start fresh.
- Adjust the look and language. Use the Light / Dark toggle to change the theme, and TR to switch between English and Turkish.
